ObjectiveTo explore the current status of perceived vulnerability among parents of children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and its influencing factors. MethodsA total of 277 parents of ALL children were enrolled, and they were investigated by the General Data Questionnaire, Child Vulnerability Scale (CVS), Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Social Support Rating Scale. The multiple linear regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors for perceived vulnerability level among parents of ALL children. ResultsThe total score of CVS among parents of ALL children was 10.45±2.88, of which the total score of CVS in 182 (65.70%) parents was ≥10. Children′s age, disease severity of children, per capita monthly household income, negative coping, and social support level were the influencing factors for perceived vulnerability level among parents of ALL children (P<0.05). ConclusionParents of ALL children have a high level of perceived vulnerability, and the level is affected by children′s age, disease severity of children, per capita monthly household income, negative coping, and social support level. Medical personnel should pay more attention to parents of children with young age, children with serious illness and low per capita monthly household income, reduce their perceived vulnerability level, so as to promote physical and mental health of children.
