ObjectiveTo investigate the mastery of transfer aid in the severely disabled elderly, and to analyze its influencing factors. MethodsA total of the 5016 severely disabled elderly who participated in Chengdu long-term care insurance were selected as the research subjects. The Barthel index assessment scale, general information of the disabled elderly, and inventory for use condition of transfer aid were used to perform questionnaire investigation. The factors for affecting use methods of mastering transfer aid in the severely disabled elderly were analyzed by employing the Logistic regression model. ResultsAmong the 5016 severely disabled elderly, 2354 (accounting for 46.9%) mastered use methods of transfer aid. The results of Logistic regression model analysis revealed that age, personal income, use frequency for transfer aid, access to transfer aid, presence of receiving adaptation guidance of transfer aid, presence of receiving health education guidance of transfer aid were influencing factors for transfer aid use methods mastery in the severely disabled elderly (P<0.05). ConclusionMost of the severely disabled elderly in Chengdu do not master use methods of transfer aid. Age, personal income, use frequency for transfer aid, access to transfer aid, presence of receiving adaptation guidance of transfer aid, presence of receiving health education guidance of transfer aid are influencing factors for transfer aid use methods mastery in the severely disabled elderly.
