Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Zhuang Medicine Jingjin therapy combined with inunction and ironing along with meridians for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 120 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into group A, group B, and group C, with 40 cases in each group. Group A was treated with local inunction and ironing, group B received inunction and ironing along with meridians for treatment, and group C was treated with Zhuang Medicine Jingjin therapy combined with inunction and ironing along with meridians for treatment. Both three groups received a 14-day treatment. Before treatment and 5, 10 and 14 days after treatment,Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score for knee joint pain and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) osteoarthritis index score were compared between the three groups. The clinical efficacy was compared between the three groups after 14 days of treatment. Results VAS score for knee joint pain and WOMAC osteoarthritis index score of the three groups exhibited a tendency of decrease with prolonging of the time after treatment (P<0.05), and VAS score for knee joint pain and WOMAC osteoarthritis index score of group C were lower than those of group A and group B at 5, 10 and 14 days after treatment (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the three groups was relatively high (>80%), and the clinical efficacy of group C was superior to groups A and B (P<0.05). Conclusion Zhuang Medicine Jingjin therapy combined with inunction and ironing along with meridians for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis can more quickly relieve patients' symptom of knee joint pain, promote recovery of joint function, and improve clinical efficacy.
